As a company born during confinement, when launching Geraldine London, it felt that business for the sake of business no longer seemed right.
This is why, Geraldine London donates 20% of all head band and scrunchie sales to support the amazing work done by the national UK charity, Women’s Aid (https://www.womensaid.org.uk/). Women’s Aid works to end domestic abuse against women and children and have been at the forefront of shaping and coordinating responses to domestic violence and abuse through practice for over 45 years.
Geraldine London is a brand run by women, for women.
We want to build a company that can define by conscious and ethical morals and actions, whether it be through how we select our upcycled luxury materials or how we chose to redistribute our profits to causes close to home.
At Geraldine London, the donations from the sales of our upcycled designer head bands go directly to the Women’s Aid’s Live Chat service. The chat was a lifeline to many during the confinement period, as expressed by Faye Connelly, Fundraising Manager, “We’d like to extend a huge thank you to Geraldine London for donating 20% of their sales to Women’s Aid. In recent months, we have all witnessed the spread and impact of Coronavirus and within the first two weeks of lockdown, there was a 41% increase in users visiting the Women’s Aid Online Live Chat Service. (…) Geraldine London’s support will make a huge difference in keeping our vital services running, so we can support more woman reaching out.” Women’s Aid reports that in the first three months of opening the Live Chat (https://chat.womensaid.org.uk/) almost 30,000 people came to it.
